Tricia's Tips for Relaxation, Grounding and Stress Management
For optimum health and wellness, Tricia recommends:
- Walking a minimum of 15 minutes per day - This will jump start your serotonin (a chemical in the brain) and boost your mood.
- Picking a mantra - What's a mantra you ask? A mantra is simply a word or phrase of your own choosing that is repeated over and over to yourself that will bring you comfort and get you centered.
- Walking meditation - As you walk, say your mantra every time your dominant foot hits the ground. Example- if you're right handed say your mantra (calm, light, joy, God, etc.) when your right foot hits the ground. For people who are left handed, say your mantra when the left foot hits the ground. The mantra may be repeated out loud or silently.
- Turning off the TV or Internet - Turn on the Music. Music works to activate your brain's healing and self soothing system. TV and the Internet drain our spirits. If you are feeling drained, vegging out in front of an electronic screen will not uplift you.
